- March 2012 – Guest on Islam TV’s Eye Witness to debate the Kony 2012 advocacy video on the the LRA.
- February 2012 – Advised BBC HARDtalk on their interview with the head of UN Mission in South Sudan.
- January 2012 – Newshour on the BBC World Service to discuss conflict in South Sudan’s Jonglei State.

- Tom was part of the team of journalists who founded The Juba Post, South Sudan’s first independent newspaper in 2005.
